Visioning Report

Climate Resilience Vision Report: Eastern Avenue is a waterfront corridor serving commercial, industrial, institutional, educational, residential, and community purposes. It is transforming in large part due to rising sea levels. As a result, Weston & Sampson was tasked with developing a design vision that aimed to protect against future flooding, reduce urban heat island impacts with more tree canopy, manage stormwater with green infrastructure, calm traffic and improve safety, add public amenities, bike paths, and protected sidewalks, and reimagine access to the waterfront for the community. This project proposed a multi-use bike and pedestrian linear park that also serves as a flood resilient berm. The project included planning, public engagement, conceptual design, and a final vision report.

Role: design, visualization, documentation, multi-lingual community engagement materials & workshops, and client coordination.
